Then a woman had prostrated herself at the bottom of the stairs of Cang Qiong and begged that a message be delivered to all on the mountain. It was urgent, she said. She could not say more at this time, but lives depended on the right person hearing these words. “What is the message?” a disciple had asked. The woman raised her head. “Beyonce,” she had said clearly. “Internet.
